Sunday School 2024-2025

Classes begin at 10:15 am and end at 11:15 am.

Watching to see what happens next! (The bag eventually popped!)

Our painted cross, waiting for the tape to be removed.

We began our Sunday School year on September 8 with Rally Day!!

Our students had a sip and paint--with juice of course--and made a cool picture of the cross.  When they removed the tape, the cross showed up beautifully against the painted background.

They played some a fun fly swatter game, did some experiments and finished the day with some wonderful snacks!

We are so happy to have everyone back for the new school year and we are excited to see some new faces!!

Receiving the goody bags

Scarecrow craft

We had a fall group lesson at the end of October. Tara told the story of how the farmer developed the scarecrow to protect his sunflowers and the scarecrow remained standing year after year, giving the farmer bigger and better sunflowers. Just like Jesus stands with us, protecting us, no matter what, year after year making us stronger and better.

Each student made spoon scarecrow and a scarecrow out of their hands (cut out of paper of course).

They played some fun fall/Halloween themed games and we finished the morning with snacks and a goody bag for everyone!!

We will not have a November group lesson, since we will be working hard on our Christmas play, which we will present on Christmas Eve at the 4 pm service.

REFLECTIONS FROM 2023-2024 SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES

We are practicing so hard for our Christmas play that we didn't have the time for a November group lesson.  🙁

Decorating cookies

The children and kings for our Christmas Play, 'A Visit from the Wise Men'

Our December group lesson was so much fun!  We built snowmen, decorated cookies, played bingo and finished with some Christmas snacks!  Merry Christmas from our Sunday school students and teachers!

Our Christmas play was a huge success! The children and director worked very hard!!  We hope you enjoyed "A Visit from the Wise Men".

Making our Deborah craft

This little leprechaun shows off her crafts on St. Patrick's Day.

In January, we learned about Deborah.  We talked about how each one of us has talents, from dancing and singing, to cooking and organizing.  We made a craft about Deborah, a banner to remind us that we are amazing because of the talents we have and a super hero mask to remind us that we are Super!!  We finished off the morning with a trivia game about Christmas.  It was close, but team Dancer beat team Singer.

We celebrated St Patrick's Day with a lesson and crafts.  We learned that Patrick was abducted and sent into slavery.  He herded sheep and heard the word of God.  He was the first person to bring Christianity to Ireland.  We made shamrocks and medallions and ate green snacks!

First Communion

And they are off on their egg hunt!!

Two young people received their First Communion on Maundy Thursday.  Congratulations to Claire and Chloe!!

We celebrated Easter on March 31.  It was a beautiful day out for our annual Easter Egg Hunt.  The children had so much fun finding all the eggs!  Most of them had to get a second bag or basket to hold all of the ones they found!

She found her prize!! Great job!!

Looking in the Bible for the first clue!

We finished our Sunday School year on May 19.  The children explored the church with a scavenger hunt.  They found clues and had to use the Bible to solve the riddles.  Everyone took home a great prize!  Thank you to all the students who attended all year and to all the teachers for a fantastic job!!  Can't wait to see everyone in September.
